Once I saw the zebra cake on AZ Cookbook, it was just a matter of when I was going to try this. I am not sure if I was more intrigued with the technique of creating the stripes or just knowing that the family will devour this cake in a blink of an eye.
The instructions provided on AZ Cookbook was excellent. Here is the cake before it was baked.

Ingredients:
2 cups white flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
1 cup white sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
Directions:
1) Preheat the oven to 350F.
2) In a bowl, combine and mix flour, salt and baking powder.
3) In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until creamy and light coloured.
4) Add the milk, oil and vanilla. Continue beating until well blended.
5) Gradually add the flour mixture and beat until the dry ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
6) Pour half of the batter into another bowl. Add the cocoa powder to one portion and stir lightly to blend.
7) Lightly grease a 9"inch round cake pan.
8) Place the baking pan in front of you. Place the bowl of white cake batter to the left of the pan and the bowl of chocolate batter to the right of the pan. Using tablespoons (or 1/4 measuring cups), spoon the equivalent of 3 tablespoons of the white cake batter into the center of the pan. Next spoon the same amount of the chocolate cake batter into the center of the pan on top of the white cake batter. Repeat until all the cake batter has been poured into the pan. You don't need to wait for the batter to spread out before starting the next. Just be sure to pour right in the middle.
9) Bake for about 40 minutes, The cake is done if you can insert a toothpick at the center and it comes out clean.
