Apple Brownies (Blondies)


Whoops!  I made a major blunder making this Apple Brownies recipe from CookWomanFood.com.  I cannot believe I forgot to add 1 cup white sugar.  It is certainly was a much healthier version, but the girls wanted no part of it!  Rather than being more of a sweet brownie, it tasted more like a coffee cake.  Even with the reduced sugar, it was still gobbled up quickly.....so all was not lost!


Apple Brownies

Ingredients:
1/3 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup apples, chopped fine
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Confectioner’s sugar

Directions:
1) Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
2) Add flour, baking powder, and salt; stir well.
3) Stir in apples, nuts, and raisins.  Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 9 pan at 350° F for 35-40 minutes.
4) Dust with confectioner’s sugar.
