Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
5 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cup milk
1 2/3 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1) Butter container (round cake pan or casserole)
2) In pan or skillet (non-stick) over medium heat melt 1/2 cup sugar, stir till light brown, then stop.
3) Pour syrup in buttered pan right away before it hardens<
4) In a large mixer bowl, beat eggs, salt, and 1/2 cup sugar at low speed until lemon coloured. Gradually add milk and vanilla until well-mixed. Pour into buttered pan.
5) The buttered pan will be placed in a bath. In a pan larger than the buttered one, partly fill with hot water. Set the buttered pan into the larger pan. Add more water till it reaches the height of the liquid in the buttered container.
6) Bake at 300F for 1 hour (or until knife inserted and comes out clean). In an 8" diameter, cook for approximately 90 minutes.
7) Cool and refrigerate. Flip over when ready to serve.
